MADE FOR ASPIRING STOP-MOTION ANIMATORS
So you've watched the films. Been amazed by the medium and decided you want to create your own Stop-Motion film/video? You're all set up with your equipment ready to shoot and you realise you have no puppet to animate!!!... or that puppet that you spent hours making doesn't do what you wanted it to do!!! I have created this course to show you from start to finish how I create my Stop-Motion Puppets for animating.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
Initial idea and design
You'll learn my process of how I take an initial idea into the design process needed to create a puppet. Thinking all the time about how to create the armature needed for the puppet.
You'll learn the process of how I create a relatively simple wired armature with a few tips and tricks thrown in. I talk about my tie down technique (using magnets) and how I attach the puppets head.
You'll learn how to sculpt different parts of a puppet so it's ready to be moulded in fast cast resin. Tips on how to get your sculpt super smooth
Moulding & Casting
A big section in this course will be on casting parts in fast cast resin. Making silicone replicas of those parts with armature wire inside.
You'll learn how to paint on silicone and also painting techniques with hard plastics. Including dry brush tips and tricks
WHY IS IT GOOD?
and fast paced
Most lessons are 10 minutes long. Giving you enough time to watch an episode during a tea break or a few during lunch time. I get straight to the point without leaving any details
Animation training is expensive
Animation training can be very pricey. Many thousands of pounds and some of the syllabus' they teach you may never use again. This course is specific to Puppet Making and for a fraction of the price.
